Can Gen Z (Or Anyone) Trust the Bible?
From what I can gather, Gen Z is quite skeptical that the Bible is the genuine Word of God. To them and many others, it seems more likely it’s just an ancient text composed and revised over a period of thousands of years. It is that dusty tome sitting on their grandma’s shelf, which does nothing to gain their confidence that scripture is in any way applicable to the challenges and experiences of modern life.
The Joy a Depressed Gen Z Craves
Up to this point, I have been hammering home the point that meaning supersedes happiness in importance. I stand by that, but I must also submit to the fact that we all wish to be happy. And you know what? I think that is putting it lightly. We wish to be joyful. Elated. We wish to live in delight of something. Generation Z is just like everyone else in this regard, and in fact they terminally deconstruct in search of this very thing.
Is Hell an Unjust Punishment?
The knee-jerk reaction of some progressive Christians is to attempt to explain hell away. They may call it a metaphor of some sort for how living a life of evil will bring you misery and despair. This, to put it lightly, is an interpretive stretch bordering on willful ignorance.
